A substance abuse counselor promoted distribution of anabolic steroids, alcohol and creatine inside a prison

Ismael Melendez got 9 years in prison for weapons’ charge in 2005. This man has served as an inmate there. Recently This man was accused in selling anabolic steroids. Melendez promoted distribution of forbidden medications inside and even outside the prison in New York. He faces charges of prison contraband, illegal possession of banned medicines and criminal possession of syringes.
It was found out that Richard Finley, Melendez’ substance abuse counselor, had participated in the criminal deals of Melendez. This man served over 10 years for the Cape Vincent prison. Finley helped him to distribute anabolic steroids outside the prison. This led to his arrest in November 2011. It happened when he had caught during distribution of anabolic steroids to a man in a certain parking lot.
Melendez sent Finley to deliver certainbanned medicines to a client. The purchase was made in a certain shopping centre.
Of course, a question appears: Why did the substance abuse counselor start to sell prohibited products?
The substance abuse counselor said why he helped Melendez . Melendez promised to give him HGH and 1500 dollars. It would have been given as exchange for the help in smuggling alcohol, anabolic steroids and creatine inside the prison. But Finley was caught by the police and accused in possession of forbidden drugs and a hypodermic instrument.
Finley made also another great mistake. He brought his little child of 7 years old, when he was involved in the illegal activity. That’s why he was also accused in endangering the welfare of a child.
This resulted in a suspension of Finley from his job without any pay. Thus, this person lost the well-paying work. It is known that the substance abuse counselor got over 52, 000 dollars per year.
Melendez was transferred to another jail. This prisoner continues to serve his sentence.
