Rampage Jackson tells about effects of testosterone during an interview

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, a mixed martial artist and actor, told about effects of the steroid testosterone in the interview with Gary Alexander of “Fighters Only Magazine”. He told about his decision to apply testosterone, about its effects on enhancement of muscle mass, weight of the body and his sexual life. He said these words after his fail at UFC 144 in Japan.
Rampage Jackson was honestly talking about his decision to find a doctor who could prescribe him testosterone replacement therapy. He said honestly because he thought that testosterone didn’t include in anabolic steroids. Rampage Jackson noticed that steroids were for muscles but testosterone was natural. Thus, he was mistaken, considering that testosterone is not an anabolic steroid.
In fact, use of testosterone replacement therapy in mixed martial arts is a controversial issue. Testosterone is applied legally in case of hypogonadism (low testosterone production). So, mixed martial artists who suffer from this illness may get a therapeutic use exemption which permits to apply the steroid testosterone legally.
But the issue that is widely discussed is whether the fighter who applies therapeutic quantity of testosterone may obtain unfair advantage during competitions.
The most of sportspersons that have received a therapeutic use exemption for administration of testosterone for clinical purposes deny getting any increase of performance due to testosterone replacement therapy.
As for Rampage Jackson, he admitted that testosterone replacement therapy had promoted increasing his muscle mass, speeded his recovery from his injuries and had positive effect on his sexual abilities. The mixed martial artist noted that he had experienced a knee injury. After he had administered three dosages of testosterone, the knee was healed. He gained bodyweight and muscle mass. This mixed martial artist stated that small measures of the steroid testosterone had produced significant changes in him. His sexual life was improved essentially; he started to feel as if he had been just 25.
Rampage Jackson blamed steroids for his impossibility to lose weight to meet criteria of the 206lb weight category.
Jackson reports that he doesn’t violate any rule. He uses testosterone and confirms that it is legally.
He notes that he is happy that he applies testosterone.
